Infection-Induced Host Translational Blockage Inhibits Immune Responses and Epithelial Renewal in the Drosophila Gut

Forgive me if someone has already posted this. This is an interesting article from Lemaitre lab, published in July in Cell Host and Microbe. Chakrabarti and colleagues show that the fly pathogen Pseudomonas entomophila “induces irreversible damage to the Drosophila gut…” through a “global translational blockage that impairs both immune and repair programs in the fly gut.”
